The Film "Hotel Rwanda"

The movie tells the heartbearking story of a part of the Rwandan Genocide, it makes a unforgettable attachment to your heart and gets across an important message. Hotel Rwanda follows the unremarkable actions of Paul Rusesabagina as he saves hundreds of people's lives when he opens his hotel as a refugee camp. This movie gives you a horrific view of what actually happened and opens your eyes to the true meaning of death and genocide, although the movie is gruesome, you cannot stop watching because the emotions you feel for them is so strong. Everything that is being acted out onscreen was actually the reality of hundred of thousands of people, not too long ago.
In the beginging the genocide hasn't started to affect Paul yet, but as it progresses he starts to see his neighbors get killed, and he sees their dead bodies sitting in their lawns. He witnesses his family put at gunpoint and innocent peoples lives taken away in minutes. Thoughout the film, you see him realize no one will help but him, so he takes it apon himself to keep them safe. Throughout the film (and in real life) he  protects over 1,000 people and saves their lives by bribing the Hutu miltia with money, fine liquor and cigars. Paul Resesabagina took it into his own hands to protect as many people as he could. This film opens your eyes and makes your heart ache knowing that what is portrayed on screen actually happened. However, the captivating story of struggle, and the exploration of human emotion and capabilities makes it a truly amazing and terrific documentary,.
"If people see this they'll say oh my god thats horrible, and keep on eating their dinners."
"All the super powers, everything you believe in Paul, their not ganna stop
this slaughter"
These quotes are from the film. They show you how intense the movie is, and how critical the situation was. These quotes have huge truths to them and really capture the amazing way humans can perceive things, they are the facts but are so unacceptable and wrong it needs to be noticed.

A Review

This movie is definitely worth watching as it takes the time to really show what happened in Rwanda. It is important that people know the truth about this tragedy in recent history because it wasn't to long ago. The character choices made by the director were brilliant and the way they explained and portrayed the events that occurred in the genocide was breathtaking. The movie follows a true hero and and shows how one person can make a huge difference and change the lives of over a thousand people, its touches your heart and is definatly a must watch movie. *****
